WORKHORSE DESK
Simple forms encourage focus and productivity. The workhorse desk is inspired by the industrious and dependable nature of workhorses throughout history as well as paying homage to the modest yet long-lasting nature of stable doors. Designed to be nomadic, the construction utilises traditional joinery that doesn't require glue allowing it to come apart, easily relocated and intuitively reassembled.
The linoleum provides a clean and supporting workspace with allowance for a certain amount of personal flair within the selection of 21 different colours. The beauty is in the details with the craftsmanship and stability also playing its part in creating a durable and functional product. The distinguishing factor is the slings: inspired by saddle bags. There to improve productivity and efficiency through items only being a glance away yet not cluttering the workspace.
TOPO Chess Set
A modern and minimalist take on the ancient game of chess, the TOPO chess set aims to act as an heirloom and catalyst for memories to be made, conversations to be had, and a place to improve the self.
'TOPO' utilises simple forms that express the history of the pieces, as well as a sandblasted and polished board that showcases the contrasts of the game through texture. The set is employs high quality American white oak and aluminium that will last a lifetime and be passed down from generation to generation.
In addition to the inherent values of family found in board games, I have added my own personal expression of what I see as a family heirloom, which stemmed from memories I have of playing with my Dad and Grandad. Hopefully promoting others to do the same.
