Molly Harkin

BA Furniture & Product Design

Driven by innovation and the pursuit of utilising pioneering materials, my values as a designer advocate being ethical and stylish. My products are constructed with contrasting materials, textures and colours, to create visually stimulating outcomes. Within my designs, delivering function, quality and sustainability without compromising aesthetics is key.

Occy

The Occy stools centre on cruelty free innovation. By experimenting with pioneering technology to remove cruelty from a product, a plant based, plastic free, vegan alternative to animal leather has been created called MIRUM. Made from natural rubbers and plant oils, the material can be endlessly recycled into new MIRUM. As well as this, all of the materials used within the stool design can be separated after use, promoting recyclability.

Kano Collection

Kano is a collection of variously sized timber storage jars, designed to help manage clutter within the home. These provide a hidden space for items that build up on surfaces such as pens, chargers, keys and sentimental trinkets. It focuses on creating visually stimulating environments and attracting design conscious consumers. The jars are available in three sizes to suit variously sized and have been created by woodturning yew, pine and oak. The lids are available in end grain timbers in a range of colours to make the product pop in its environment.
