Sustainability in sneaker design
Waste is a huge problem in the fashion industry, with sneakers being a huge part of the issue. With a passion for athletic footwear, I decided to come up with a solution to this problem. This issue, which became part of the initial brief, directed the project in the path of designing a biodegradable sneaker. After a lengthy design process going back and forth to improve development and solve problems while identifying hurdles that came up along the way, following the double diamond design process and led me to come up with a biodegradable sneaker for the summer which features a removable upper allowing the lower to be used as a sandal.
Vibe
Vibe is a sustainable, portable Bluetooth speaker that is made to be used in the kitchen and around the home. The strap makes transporting the speaker easy and is also detachable and washable. The packaging features bright colours to attract the consumer and is fully recyclable. Maintenance can be easily carried out through easy access to internals via the removable speaker grills, adding to the speaker's longevity.
