Struggling with overstimulation is a common occurrence for people with neuro-developmental conditions - whether that be at school, in their workplace, out and about, or even dealing with common stressors within the home! Therefore it is important there is a space that exists in which individuals can decompress, in order to better manage any overwhelming aspects of the day and allow them to thrive. I chose this project to give myself an opportunity to better understand the unique minds of the people around us and how I can aim to relieve any discomfort that they come across. With the deeper understanding of the vast range of impacts that Autism and ADHD can have on individuals, I was able to develop the ideal chair for escaping the elements - even if just for a few moments of Zen.
