Haden Furniture Range
Haden Furniture Range was designed with a major UK furniture retailer in mind, focusing on forecasted trends for Spring/Summer 2024.
With the UK suffering from the highest rate of inflation in nearly 40 years, excess consumer expenditure is on the decline with people less likely to make large and expensive purchases of home goods. Therefore, it is vital that furniture designed for the commercial market is essential and affordable.
Focusing on Alexander Gelman's design process called 'Subtraction', Haden is designed to offer open storage options without the unnecessary means of doors, drawers, and baskets; focusing the design on the bare essentials. This allows for the design to remain affordable, utilising low-cost processes and minimal materials.
The yellow-toned, powder-coated steel contrasted with the oak veneered MDF aims to uplift and warm the user. Using physiologically proven colours that replicate positive emotional connotations, the range aims to add a warming glow to the user's living room. Along with this, the range comes in two colour ways: a warm yellow tone and a more sophisticated dark grey in order to broadly suit the users' interior style.
Liten Lamp
In 2021, there was a 32% increase in new build home dwellings in the UK. Across these new build homes, the interiors painted a similar picture: dull, uninspired, and beige rooms. The Liten Lamp aims to tackle this by bringing fun and joy into the modern new build home.
The characterful table lamp design brings a spark of colour into a home's interior, whilst also incorperating streamlined and contemporary silhouettes. The friendly design was inspired by a collection of vases by Dutch design company, 101 Copenhagen, but introduced to lighting design with a contemporary twist. The glass globe lamp shade mixed with the powder-coated steel body encases the design in a modern yet joyful approach.
