I am extremely passionate about my work and enjoy finding innovative solutions to the problems the everchanging world creates. My approach to every aspect of design is; comprehensive, innovative, creative and practical, in order to create a contemporary product. I believe good design allows the user to effortlessly complete their tasks with minimum hindrance. I look forward to exploring my design values further as I pursue a career within the design industry.

How can we increase levels of physical activity among children

My project encourages more physically active and engaging family time. The website is designed to help parents discover new, healthy and interesting family activities that they can expose their children to. These activities are then written on the DIY carousel, creating a sense of suspense and excitement when the child is choosing what to do each weekend. The carousel is designed in the form of a 'do it yourself' kit which is suitable for all children between the ages of 5 and 7 and can be completed with minimal parental guidance. This helps create a fun personal product and promotes family time.

This project was to create a convenient gadget for a day-to-day lifestyle, to help students transition from leaving home for university. A Portable Adaptable Bluetooth Speaker is just that: It fills their environment with high-quality recreations of their music. The speaker is water resistent and portable with long battery life, internal charger compartment and magnetic lid. And with features allowing the user to adjust sounds to their preference, they're always in control.

I chose to target university students so that I could feed into my personal experiences, as well as conducting lots of primary research with peers. Through semi-structured interviews, I was able ascetain a clear picture of the problem and what features I needed to implement to solve it. I then developed the final form through extensive prototyping and testing.
