I'm from Hong Kong, a city that blends eastern and western cultures. People here live in tiny spaces, so they need furnishings that save space and are multi-functional. As a designer, I aim to improve people's daily lives by creating useful and creative products that care about user experience and sustainability.
BraceCLEAN
BraceCLEAN'is an oral cleaning kit specifically designed for orthodontic brace users. The inspiration for this product came from personal experience wearing braces and struggling with food getting stuck in my teeth, causing discomfort and embarrassment.
BraceCLEAN is portable and can be easily carried in a bag or purse, making it convenient for use on-the-go. The oral cleaning kit is a reusable product used to remove food debris from teeth and braces. By using a reusable kit, the product helps reduce waste caused by disposable oral products, contributing to a more sustainable future. Additionally, an accompanying app linked to the user's calendar provides refilling plans and gentle reminders to clean your teeth after meals.
The product also aims to raise awareness of the importance of oral health and create new habit of persistently exercising existing habits of using floss or toothpick to clean braces after meals, thus improving oral health and overall well-being. Furthermore, the stationary outlook of BraceCLEAN allows it to fit seamlessly into office spaces, maintaining a professional look.
ROTATO LAMP
ROTATO LAMP' is a unique lighting fixture designed for home office workers. With more people working from home, there is a growing need for products that help improve productivity and maintain focus. Throughout the design process, the focus was on creating a functional and visually appealing product. The lamp uses the Pomodoro technique, switching on only one side at a time and turning off every 25 minutes, prompting the user to take a break. When flipped over, a colour mood light activates and counts down for five minutes, reminding users to take a break at 25-minute intervals. The design is inspired by the hourglass, symbolising the passage of time. The lamp's shade takes on the aesthetic shape of a trapezium, adding a modern touch. The refined mechanism of the lamp holder ensures that the lamp functions smoothly while Balanceing and sliding. Overall, the ROTATO LAMP is a thoughtful and carefully crafted design that solves the problem of maintaining concentration and avoiding eye strain during long hours of work, especially while working from home. Its unique design make it a standout piece in any workspace.
