In the national parks of the UK, emergency services are regularly engaged in lengthy searches for missing people. The Rescue Drone aims to cut down on the time spent searching by providing an exact location for the person. If the person is lost, or injured, in an area with no signal, they launch the drone. The drone flies autonomously in a straight line, using sensor equipment to avoid crashing, all whilst broadcasting an SOS message, which contains the user's location, and any necessary details. Eventually, upon reaching an area with signal, the message can be received by emergency services who will then launch the required rescue operation. The drone deploys a small parachute and gently drifts to Earth, broadcasting a second message with its location for retrieval.
