Abbie Foggo

BA Furniture & Product Design

As a designer, I strive for a balance between playful and functional design. My hands-on approach allows me to experiment with materials, textures, colours, and processes to make my vision a reality. I aim to design products that engage the user while still having a practical purpose.

Taut

Taut is a educational statement piece. The simplistic scaffolding frame, along with the main seat body, made entirely from used climbing rope demonstrates the endless possibilities of how waste materials can be given a new lease of life. The knot patterns not only add visual interest but also have the potential to teach knot-tying skills. Taut highlights the significance of sustainable living and reducing waste. This design encourages creativity and aims to spark conversation around sustainability and repurposing materials. An accompanying educational book provides knot-tying instructions and innovative ways to repurpose rope into functional objects, making it a valuable resource for the environmentally conscious.

Revolve

Revolve aims to seek what office workers are missing when working at home and encourages a sense of belonging within the office. This product is able to aide interaction and collaboration in the workplace. Revolve provides a surface that allows employees to write directly onto the table with no need for paper, the surface spins to allow others to write their notes alongside the original. By having an interactive workspace, Revolve introduces an element of fun into the workplace and creates a space where employees feel welcome. This unique interactivity with the product is not something that can be replicated digitally, creating a sense of excitement in being in the office.
