BA Product Design
I have always been drawn to three-dimensional compositions, external forms and contours in art and photography. A fascination of the design process to create functional interior products has led me to create my own unique, practical designs. Design allows me to express my creative way of thinking and put it to use, creating concepts and finalised designs.
Modular Storage Solutions
This particular piece of furniture sits between a practical storage unit and an exclusive, personal possession. It allows the user to personalise their storage, using it to showcase belongings, art, hang clothes and collections, or indeed hide away unwanted clutter. The unit becomes a place that tells a story, creates themes with personal objects that can be added to over time - a storage unit that can grow with the user and their changing environments.
The Arc
The use of a minimalist style within a home can create a bleak and dark environment, using earthy tones such as navy blue and black. The Arc enables the user to have lighting that fits within this minimalist movement, whilst combating the cold feeling these rooms can radiate. It achieves this with a glowing orange light, creating a comforting feeling to the room. The Arc's use of curved features with strong materials makes for a impactful structure. To establish a personal connection, a small table that can hold possessions tackles the impersonal sense that minimalism can impart on a space or piece of furniture.
