Crafting Hope
The Men in Shed program is a community-based initiative that aims to address the social isolation and loneliness that many retired men experience. The program provides a safe and welcoming space for members to socialize, share skills, and work on projects together. My project was to produce detailed plans for the Men in Shed program that will enable members to learn new woodworking skills and techniques. These plans will include detailed layouts, materials, and tools required.
In addition to enhancing members' skillsets, the final products made by the members will serve as a means of connecting them with different generations. The products will act as a starting point where connections and relationships can be built and developed helping to reduce loneliness for the members.
Overall, my project aims to support the Men in Shed program in its mission to improve the mental health and well-being of retired men through socialization, skill-sharing, and community projects. The plans produced will contribute to creating a safe, functional, and inclusive workspace for all members to enjoy.

The Reading Side Table designed is a sleek and stylish addition to any modern home. Crafted from high-quality American white oak, this side table is not only beautiful but also built to last.
The design of the table is simple and elegant, with clean lines and a warm, natural finish that showcases the beauty of the wood grain. One of the standout features of this table is the built-in sling, which provides a convenient and stylish way to store your favourite book. The sling can accommodate books of various sizes, and it is attached to the underside of the table for easy access.
In addition to the book sling, the table also features a convenient pocket for storing your mobile phone. This pocket is discreetly located on the underside of the table, so your phone is always within reach but out of sight.
