Perfora
Perfora is a low seated lounge chair that attempts to inspire mutuality between industrial and pre-industrial materials and techniques through a relation of craftsmanship.
This project was an opportunity for the designer to explore their own unique design process, influences and inspirations, and what makes 'good' design.
The design of the chair originated from research into existing products that also feature perforations. The functional, uniform and neat aesthetic of these designs pushed them to explore perforated sheet metal. He saw a beautiful familiarity yet unique form with perforated sheet metal and an opportunity to utilise the perforations in a way that they hadn't seen before in combination with upholstery.
The design of this accent chair with its low seating arrangement promotes a relaxed and comfortable seating experience. The design choice of combining natural textiles with industrial perforated sheet metal also highlights the interplay between industrial and pre-industrial materials and techniques, inspiring a sense of collaboration and mutual appreciation for craftsmanship.
The Generation Lamp
The Generation Lamp is a small, but stylish, lighting solution inspired by traditional candle holders.
The aim is to embody timeless characteristics and make a product that will last for years to come. Made from brass and onyx, the lamp boasts an elegant architectural style and, with proper maintenance, will have a long lifespan. This, in turn, will create a strong bond between the user and the product, making it a valuable item that can be passed down through generations. The Generation Lamp blends form and function, making it an ideal lighting option for any home or hospitality setting.
