Alfie Hall
Hello, my name is Alfie. I am a vibrant designer who likes to learn and work with a range of materials and processes, in particular working with fabric and I wish to continue designing products which spark joy in others.
The Ambient Arcade Chair

The Ambient Arcade Chair is more than just a design; it's a reflection of my journey as a queer designer. I'm inspired by LGBTQ+ designers such as Keith Haring. Inclusivity is at the forefront of my designs, and I often get inspired by the many LGBTQ+ people in my life. This cosy gaming chair creates a feeling of warmth and safety whilst seated. The custom 80's arcade print bursts with colour, creating a bold pattern, amplified by the quilted cushion. This design choice aims to evoke feelings of joy and playfulness.
I had to go outside my comfort zone and take on a new skill with metalwork when designing this chair and during its creation, I faced personal challenges with my mental health. However, by connecting with loved ones, I remembered why I started this project: to offer others a cosy and safe space to unwind.
True Colour Cushions

The True Colour Collection is a cushion pride range that Tesco could introduce to help tackle the waste created by the commercislisation of Pride, highlighting their support of the LGBTQIA+ community.
They can be interchanged throughout the year to match the season and Tesco's could explore this idea by bundling certain cushions together at a bundle price. Each one is made from cotton and has intricate embellishments through embroidery and beading which are inspired by queer artists.
Lastly, the cushions are finished off with a custom tag, highlighting not only all the cushions in the collection, but also a Qr code to the artist's Instagram.
