Silsilat Al Nur
Silsilat Al-Nur is an interactive light installation that explores the intersection of Islamic geometry, personal identity, and contemporary design. Installed in Bradford's Mirror Pool, the dome-like structure draws on traditional Islamic patterns and the reflective qualities of water to create a space for public contemplation and cultural engagement.
Rooted in my experience as a British Muslim, the project uses geometry not only as an aesthetic tool but as a symbolic language - expressing unity, balance, and a connection to heritage. The title, meaning "Chain of Light" in Arabic, references the spiritual transmission of knowledge and illumination within Islamic tradition.
Visitors activate shifting LED patterns through QR code interactions, allowing them to shape the experience in real time. This blending of digital technology with historical form invites reflection on how cultural identity evolves within modern contexts. By transforming a public space into a responsive, immersive environment, Silsilat Al-Nur fosters a deeper appreciation for Islamic art and opens a dialogue between tradition and innovation.

Crafted Connections is a seasonal craft kit designed to bring people together through fun, hands-on activities. Unlike most craft kits made for one person, this kit is meant to be shared by couples, families, or friends. Each kit includes easy-to-follow instructions and all the materials needed to create simple, meaningful crafts - perfect for holidays and special occasions.
Whether you're making decorations, cards, or keepsakes, the activities are designed to spark conversation, creativity, and quality time. The packaging is thoughtfully organised to make crafting easy and enjoyable, even for beginners.
