Charlie creates designs which blend functionality and aesthetics, aiming to push the limits on creativity whilst still solving real world problems. In the design process a large emphasis is put on sustainability and usability- these lead to exciting, functional and ethical design solutions.
Terrapin
Terrapin is a surfing helmet aimed at a sceptical market who are stuck in old traditions with a more nonchalant look at safety but are slowly beginning to see the dangers in the sports with more high-profile injuries.
This design aims to reduce head injuries and protect the ears against infection or potentially more severe damage to the ears from the cold water. Focussing on the users needs and wants was the key to creating this helmet with a design that blended well into their style and surf culture.
