As a designer I'm always looking for what the future holds. My work focuses not on the next year but the next thirty - discovering where we are moving too fast, unable to understand the consequences and where we are complacent, keeping us from moving forward. Looking at the intersection of analogue and digital, I want to explore these ideas to create new methods of interaction, creation and expression for a new generation of users.
Pocket 35 Go!

The Pocket 35 GO! is a 35mm film camera designed for the next generation of film photographers. Utilizing contemporary technology which, when paired with analogue film creates a device that, like the current film market, challenges the binary conception of digital vs analogue. Seen by some as an antidote to an increasingly digital world, film photography is being picked up as a form of wellbeing by many particularly Gen Z following part of a wider analogue revival. The Pocket 35 GO! considers what a camera designed for these new users would look like, solving issues which many have had with vintage designs by coming in smaller to fit into a more on the move lifestyle. Having "Snap mode" which emulates the characteristics of a disposable camera allowing for a Lo-Fi look and a large screen which helps new users understand their photography better. Paying tribute to the cameras of the past, the Pocket 35 GO! features a metal build and recycled leatherette which is contrasted by a recycled plastic grip made partly from old film canisters. It is designed to wear gracefully by visually holding the stories of its travels, just like the 35mm film it shoots.
