My name is Jack Cooper. I am a product design student who strives to create imaginative designs with a key focus on user-centred design and sustainability. Creativity and design are deeply embedded in my personality, and my design passions include costume, graphic, and illustration design outside of university.
Collegio modular display cabinets
Colligo is a modular cabinet system designed to house, protect, and showcase a user's collections. Recognising that personal collections are typically unique in subject, size and form, which is often an expression of a user's personality and identity, Colligo offers a flexible alternative storage solution that conventional storage cabinets often lack. Crafted from oak-veneered MDF and powder-coated mild steel, the cabinet utilises a refined industrial aesthetic with two storage drawers and a display drawer for smaller items. Designed and developed by collectors for collectors, Colligo utilises a modular system of design to enable extensive customisation options, ensuring the cabinet is adaptable to a user's specific needs. Cinelux
Cinelux is a floor lamp developed to bring the feeling of a cinema experience into the home. With more and more people starting to watch films from home rather than at the cinema, the experience and feeling of cinema are often lost. Cinelux aims to continue the cinema experience by using diffused and undiffused coloured lighting to enable a more subtle and less intrusive lighting experience. The use of genre-specific coloured lighting allows the light to directly encapsulate the mood of the film the user is watching. Users can manually change the light level and genre colour presets via the dedicated app or customise the colour wanted for the viewing experience. Creating a more comfortable and complementary environment without the intrusion or distraction of regular or interactive screen lighting. All of this is housed within a minimal and sculptural form, enabling reduced distractions when viewing and a sculptural aesthetic when not in use.
