Hi, I'm Lucy Barrick, a designer invested in emotional well being and the quiet power of intuitive design. My work is rooted in a desire to create pieces that not only serve a function but also reflect the emotional worlds we all carry, especially those often overlooked.
Aetherielle
Aetherielle is a wearable aromatherapy pendant designed to support women’s emotional well being throughout their menstrual cycle, particularly to ease the symptom of anger, a commonly overlooked yet significant experience.
Inspired by the natural, cyclical rhythm of the female body, the pendant takes the form of a spiralling shell - fluid and organic, like a stream of water - symbolising the idea that menstruation is a natural, powerful part of life. The design proudly exposes a refillable glass vial, which holds calming essential oils such as chamomile, jasmine, neroli and ylang ylang. The visibility of this vial is intentional, challenging the societal taboo of menstruation by placing the solution in plain sight, acting as a subtle yet bold conversation starter.
Aetherielle also draws on the rich historical use of scent for emotional balance and well being. People have long turned to aromatherapy to influence mood and restore calm and this pendant revives that tradition in a modern, tactile, and personal form.
More than just jewellery, Aetherielle is a symbol of empowerment, designed to help women reconnect with their bodies and regulate their emotions through scent.
Snowball
Snowball is a versatile holiday light decoration designed to bring festive cheer while also serving as an elegant piece of home decor suitable for year-round use. This unique product consists of three separate orbs, each capable of individual illumination. When stacked together, the orbs form a charming snowman figure, perfect for holiday celebrations. Users can customise Snowball with a wide variety of accessories, including festive adornments or seasonal accents to match their personal style. Beyond its holiday function, the orbs can be detached and arranged independently around the home, creating a warm and inviting ambient lighting effect. Crafted from recycled plastic, Snowball supports sustainability, while its adaptable design ensures long-lasting value by seamlessly transitioning between holiday and everyday decor.
