Poppy Simpson
As a designer, I thrive on hands-on making and exploring natural materials. I'm passionate about creating tactile, thoughtful work that connects people to process and place. My approach blends craftsmanship with curiosity, resulting in designs that are grounded, intuitive, and rooted in a respect for the material's natural beauty.
Forge

Forge explores female ergonomics and aims to make women feel more confident and included in the workshop environment. Through research into gender bias in design, I identified that many tools and workspaces are created with the male body as the default, often leading to discomfort or exclusion for women. My design responds to this by prioritising ergonomics tailored to female bodies, promoting comfort, control, and ease of use.
The goal is not just physical accessibility, but to build confidence and challenge gendered assumptions in practical spaces, ultimately encouraging more women to feel empowered and capable in workshop settings.
Verda
Made from natural wood, the light takes inspiration from the form and permanence of a tree trunk, symbolising stability, growth, and calm. In response to the often sterile and artificial feel of modern interiors, this piece brings warmth, texture, and grounding into the home. By incorporating organic materials and natural forms, it aims to create a soothing atmosphere that supports mental health and emotional balance. The design encourages moments of pause and reflection, offering a subtle but powerful connection to the natural world.
