Hi I am Thomas, I use sketching and CAD as key tools to explore, refine, and communicate ideas effectively, with my design work focusing on improving everyday experiences - particularly in the areas of sport, lifestyle, and well-being.
I approach each project with energy, curiosity and a commitment to learn. I'm always looking for opportunities to challenge myself, learn new skills, and design products that combine creativity with real-world impact.
Anchor Bracing - Shoulder Abduction Sling

The Anchor Bracing: Shoulder Abduction Sling looks to improve the comfort of users who have suffered a polytrauma injury involving both the collarbone and ribs.
Convention arm slings use the ribs as a natural bracing point to immobilise the users arm. However, in cases where a rib injury has occurred simultaneous, this bracing point often causes discomfort when moving and breathing. This can have serious implications on the recovery period of the user and, in severe cases, can cause further complications such as chest infections and breathing issues.
The Anchor Bracing: Shoulder Abduction Sling looks to remove the pressure off of the injured rib area by elevating the users arm, whilst keeping the collarbone secure and stable. The Soft Spacer Fabric Sleeves ensure that the sling is breathable and comfortable for the user over the full recovery period by reducing excess sweating and bacteria build-up. This, combined with the soft, cut to size strapping, ensures that users of all sizes will find more comfort when compared to a one size fits all sling.
SureStride

SureStride are a range of adpatable and interchangeable, larger diameter, ferrules that aim to improve the balance and stability of users with muscular dystrophy. The ferrules can connect to the users current walking poles and sticks through the adapters, which provide a secure connection. SureStride's variation of ferrule designs provide the user with options based on the walking conditions as well as personal preference.
Both the ferrule range and adapters are 3D printed using 95A Shore Hardness TPU which ensures that the product can flex and twist whilst withstanding the forces applied by the users natural walking pattern.
