I aspire to use design as a way to benefit the wellbeing of people and the environment. Using a variety of design methodologies, I have created a range of assistive products.
Licentia.
Parkinson's Disease is an incurable illness that affects around 10 million people worldwide. This project looked at ways of improving everyday life for people who may have severe tremors through the use of a key assistant.
Licentia aids in the process of placing and turning a key. A wide range of users who may have motor function disabilities can benefit from this product. It is assistive design at an affordable price.
Product testing revealed that this product reduced the estimated unlock time for people with Parkinson's Disease by 45 seconds.
Narrate
In the UK, it is estimated that one in five children cannot read well by the age of eleven. Narrate is a portable literacy pen that helps children define words and actively engages them in learning.
The product comes in a variety of languages and helps children overcome the challenges of learning to read by providing instant access to quality education.
