ORNA
ORNA is an Afrofuturist jewellery brand. Its founding collection, 'Divine Connection', consists of six pieces which have been designed to reflect different attributes of black femininity.
Motivated by the oftentimes complex relationship between black and non-black femininity, 'Divine Connection' works to dismantle Euro-centric standards of how Western femininity exists. The collection provides new ways of redefining the past, present, and future existence of black femininity.
Designed to honour the female form, 'Divine Connection' is an intimate and truthful archive of the journey of black femininity. When worn, a connection is forged between the wearer, the women before them, with them and after them.
In a society that oftentimes misunderstands black womanhood, 'Divine Connection' is a bold and true interpretation of the dimensionalities that make up black femininities.
Momi
A collection of four devices, the Momi work cohesively as a sleep aid to encourage a more independent good night's sleep for young children. Designed for children between the ages of 4 and 6 years-old, the collection consists of a clock light, a room tidy and a pair of communicator devices.
Inspired by Li Edelkoort's 'soft tech' concept, the products are made from a soft-touch silicone, adding a sense of comfort to their tactility. With their cute and friendly appearance, it would take no time at all for a young child to warm to them and become close friends. The tactility of the product also lends itself to its secondary function - to encourage imaginative play.
Sitting nestled together, the devices charge using a wireless charging base.
