BA (Hons) Product Design
Jamie-Leigh Cullen
I’ve been passionate about design and fitness since a young age. I decided that I wanted to create a career out of my passions, leading me to retrain as a Designer. Through design, my goal is to give back to the sporting industry where I have a desire to make a difference.
UnPlgd - Packable Activewear
I wanted to challenge the activewear industry and its exclusivity of body types when it came to the skin-tight cut and fit used within many garments related to this area. I took the fabrics used within activewear products and adapted the tightly fitted style into a more inclusive one creating oversized, functional outcomes. I considered streetwear, retro sportswear and tailoring to achieve this.
As athleisure is now considered a day-to-day wearable trend, my goal was to take this movement and use it to push activewear garments in the same direction yet can sit within a space not yet occupied.
Ornimental ergonomic 2kg weights
This brand designs ergonomic homewares for people with reduced mobility. Having experience within the fitness industry I wanted to create a pair of weights that would encourage the user to engage in home-based workouts. These ornamental weights would be on display, encouraging regular use, while creating an interesting talking point.
