For me, designing is all about creating a sleek and modern looking product, which also has functionality as well as sustainability at the forefront. This can often be a challenge to achieve effectively, but I find the challenges involved with designing can be very rewarding.
Epoch
The Epoch table demonstrates a sleek design with great functionality. The three incorporated stools allows the owner to have additional seating in the living room without taking up extra space whilst having a comfier surface to lean against, if they prefer to be on the floor. Many first time buyers struggle with space in their homes, especially in their living rooms. Epoch attempts to solve this issue by incorporating additional seating within the coffee table, allowing friends and family to sit more comfortably when visiting but reducing the floor space taken up when neatly stored away.
SlowGlow
The SlowGlow morning light offers users the ability to wake up with ease thanks to its bright motorised light and speakers. The touch controls and scroll wheel also allows the user to control the light and audio without having to user their mobile device.
The project sprouted from an issue I experience, waking up in the morning properly without any light. SlowGlow aims to solve this by imitating the sun rising and combining it with audio of the users choice. SlowGlow can also be used for mood-lighting and listening to music via bluetooth.
