I am an open-minded, adaptable designer with the aim to always challenge myself when undertaking new projects. Throughout my time on this course I've had to opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects exploring my interests, but the ones that have stood out for me are the concepts where I have to approach the task in a different way to what I am used to, understanding different perspectives. I feel that this is the most important aspect of design.
REGAIN
REGAIN is a physiotherapy tool used for the purpose of preventing recurring shoulder injuries in rugby. The provided vest and sensors will track shoulder placement and show the patient a live feed allowing them to perform exercises correctly. REGAIN gives the patient a programme to follow making sure that they are more engaged in their recovery allowing them a quick and safe return to playing rugby.
INSPEC
Inspec is a new concept for an inflatable speculum used for examining the cervix. My design uses an inflatable sleeve that when fully inflated creates a comfortable soft cylinder that retracts the sidewalls allowing a clear view of the cervix. Added features such as a ratchet, large ergonomic handle and extra grip platforms gives the user extra control, minimising the risk of slipping and hurting the patient.
