Through extensive research, it was clear that many bath aids have been medically designed with the aesthetics of the design often not being considered, leaving users demotivated and embarrassed to use them.

The brief was to design a bathroom aid for 20-30-year-olds who suffer from fibromyalgia and struggle with washing and bathing. Individuals with fibromyalgia, a condition that causes widespread pain and extreme tiredness, find getting in and out of the bath, standing up and down difficult as well as standing for long periods. Thus, the product aimed to help them live more easily and independently and without the worry of being unsafe at home or when away and most importantly not feel ashamed of using a bath stool while washing.

Sonder offers a new way of helping users when bathing with its fresh look having been heavily influenced by the Cantilever chair which makes the stool timeless and a classic. The stool is made from high-quality water-repellent material and stainless-steel tubing which allows the stool to be folded up and down to allow the user to transport the stool easily and in style.

With many office workers now working from home due to COVID-19 and desk spaces often being uncomfortable, many users are left feeling negative and uncomfortable at the end of the day. Therefore, YOU. a collection of sculptural desk items has been created with the simple aim of combating the daily aches and pains of sitting at a desk all day and allow the user to take time to focus on them.

The collection items have the common goal of not looking like typical exercise equipment but instead offer a more sculptural and artistic design nature allowing the products to stay as a permanent feature on the user’s desk. The collection consists of a resistance band, a 2KG split weight and a handheld foam roller. Accompanying this the collection comes with a USB cone-shaped light in which the user can use to start a 5-minute timer. This cone is linked to the collection’s website which offers calendar reminders, workout activities to sign up to, and workout videos to follow along with and without the collection pieces. These items all fit in a recycled polyester travel bag allowing the user to move from desk to desk when starting to return to the office.
