Jamie Cammann
I am a designer undefined by a specific discipline and driven to explore a variety of processes and approaches towards design. Getting my hands dirty brings me fulfilment: whether it's painting or sketching for ideation and inspiration; model making for development; or assembling final prototypes. Often drawing inspiration from the art world, I endeavour to achieve harmony and integrity with regards to purpose, form and colour in my designs.
Stratum
Stratum is an ornamental table lamp intended to illuminate a domestic environment with a soothing ambience, making use of the delicate translucent qualities of waste vellum.
The design is a product of exploration into processes that could be employed to repurpose waste vellum from the luxury interior and furniture industry. I sought to illustrate the hidden value in the offcuts and discarded pieces from the manufacturing process.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the lamp is comprised of components that can be easily dismantled and appropriately replaced, recycled, or disposed of.

The curvaceous form provides the recliner with dynamic movement. The user can lean back and rest in a comfortable, supported position from both sides.
