Jamie Cammann

I am a designer undefined by a specific discipline and driven to explore a variety of processes and approaches towards design. Getting my hands dirty brings me fulfilment: whether it's painting or sketching for ideation and inspiration; model making for development; or assembling final prototypes. Often drawing inspiration from the art world, I endeavour to achieve harmony and integrity with regards to purpose, form and colour in my designs.

Stratum

Stratum is an ornamental table lamp intended to illuminate a domestic environment with a soothing ambience, making use of the delicate translucent qualities of waste vellum.

The design is a product of exploration into processes that could be employed to repurpose waste vellum from the luxury interior and furniture industry. I sought to illustrate the hidden value in the offcuts and discarded pieces from the manufacturing process.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the lamp is comprised of components that can be easily dismantled and appropriately replaced, recycled, or disposed of.

Office spaces are changing: Interiors are known to have a significant effect on workplace performance. Research shows that 1 in 5 employees believe that having more spaces to relax in away from their desks would improve productivity at work. Repose, a fully upholstered recliner; offers a playful solution for the modern office competing to keep up with the times.

The curvaceous form provides the recliner with dynamic movement. The user can lean back and rest in a comfortable, supported position from both sides. Upholstered in Oceanic, a 100% recycled post-consumer plastic polyester, produced from ocean debris, Repose will be available in 3 options of vibrant pastel colours that offer a balance between bold, distinctive, and temperate, adding variety to contemporary break out areas.
