Hi, I’m Arjun Sihota, and I enjoy helping people through design by solving real-world problems. With a background in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a grappling combat sport, I’ve developed the ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure environments, something that naturally carries through into my design work. I have a strong foundation in design skills including prototyping, sketching, and CAD, with 3D modelling being my strongest and most enjoyable area. I see design as a way of truly understanding people's problems through empathy, allowing me to create solutions that genuinely meet their needs.

RollGuard works to improve hygiene in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) through a range of dedicated hygiene stations. BJJ is a combat sport that takes place on mats, where athletes compete in 1v1 matches and attempt to submit one another using various locks and chokes. As BJJ involves close skin-to-skin contact, sweat, dirt, and bacteria can spread easily, which can lead to poor hygiene standards. As a result, skin infections are common within the sport. These infections can cause uncomfortable symptoms, become serious, force athletes to take time away from the mats, and in some cases, may even be life-threatening. Ringworm and staph are two of the most common infections in BJJ. They are often spread through skin-to-skin contact and shared items, while staph can also spread through cuts and wounds. RollGuard has two stations designed to improve hygiene in BJJ gyms and act as a strong preventative measure against these skin infections. The mat-side station is used during sessions and helps clean substances such as sweat and blood, while also supporting the covering and cleaning of wounds. The hygiene station is used before and after sessions to help ensure athletes are clean when stepping onto the mats and once training has finished

The Roc Lueur Pendant Light

The Roc Lueur Pendant Lights are inspired from the rich Parisian cafe culture and the Rococo period. The handmade ceramic earthenware shade, with its form being inspired by ‘S’ and ‘C’ shapes, is finished with a shiny glaze, a charming yet elegant look. The brass is antiqued finished with the ceiling rose and lampholder having small floral details. These lights fit comfortably above a kitchen table, kitchen island or in the corner of your room giving the warm glow and cosiness of a Parisian cafe. This light includes: a glazed ceramic shade, an antiqued brass E27 lampholder, a matching brass ceiling rose with screws and 3 metres of hemp rope cord.
