I enjoy designing for a purpose, often as simple as bringing joy into the mundane by incorporating subtle, playful elements. I take visual inspiration from things that make me happy, and innovative inspiration from the issues I see around my friends and family. I pride myself on my evaluative and leadership skills and would like to go into a career that would allow these to flourish. I would like to design for cultural, global, and societal benefit, rather than for profit, allowing me to stick to my values and create a legacy to be proud of.

The Malbec Mood Light

A brass and porcelain wall-mounted kitchen light designed in the style of deVOL. It combines the ambiance Parisian-style café environments with the refinement of La Belle Époque in the brands classic yet simple style to create warmth. The materials and colours give the design a timeless look with a modern twist on the whiplash curves popular in the era. The design features notable detail without being ornate, and a wine glass form, linking to the Parisian-style cafés which function more like restaurants with a bar. The wide bowl shape is commonly used to serve this French red, making it an appropriate title for the piece.
