With a background in 3D transportation and architecture, I have taken a different route using my competent and expressive skills to discover design through furniture and form. Taking a keen interest in modern furniture, I also enjoy exploring the Mid-century, such as designers Isamu Noguchi and Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe. With goals to challenge material sustainability in design, I am interested in new innovations and technology that can be incorporated into my designs and adapted to fit commercial scale.

Sprout

Sprout is a stool made from mycelium, agricultural waste, and steel. Mycelium is the root network of mushrooms and is mainly used in packaging as a bio-alternative to polystyrene. The mycelium is grown onto the stool inside a bucket for two weeks, after which it is removed and cured in an oven to stop further growth. The seat is biodegradable, while the steel frame is recyclable, making Sprout a low‑impact, highly sustainable product. Sprout demonstrates that biomaterials can be more than disposable solutions, with the aim of inspiring change in how companies innovate their production processes to benefit both the environment and to educate users.
