Jay Saez

BSc

Greetings! If there is one thing you must know about me, my work does not aim to fulfil any mundane, terrestrial desire. Rather, my interest lies in exploring and conveying the obscurity of nature. Through design I aspire to venerate and honour all the ineffable substances of the universe, simply with the hope of creating meaning, emotion and connection <3

Oscillatory Monomytholudic Symbiogenesis

Sparkling within the deepest depths of each wandering soul there is a hidden treasure. Buried far beneath the surface of the wretched and forcefully imposed rules of society, the rules that tell us “how one is meant to be”, there can be found, in its blissful slumber, the delightful innocence of our youth.

The child we once were is not lost. It is merely submerged under many abominable modern normality’s and cultural conditionings.

Challenging the mechanical behaviour of everyday life, this project seeks wholeheartedly to reconnect adults to their marvellous qualities of childlike wonder and curiosity.

LAKASHA

Inspired by the powerful energetical current of the Kundalini (commonly understood in western culture as the ‘Divine Mother/Feminine’) Lakasha imitates the twine of Ida and Pingala as they travel through the spinal column. Constructed of concrete, steel and three flowing metallic ribbons coiling around a central orb of light, Lakasha unites simplicity with elegance, embodying its role as a companion piece designed to inspire mysticism and creativity within artists and creative professionals.
