My name is Mwansa and I'm a product designer from Zambia. I became involved in art during my second year of high school. I've always had trouble putting things into words, so art helps me, express myself. After high school, had an internship with a freelancer in graphic design. Was later introduced to product design when I arrived to the UK. It is satisfying to be able to show yourself through products that work.
Lil Tiff
Lil Tiff, a table lamp that aims to create a soft warm and welcoming ambience light at home. A small design to be able to carry around the living room and bedroom, so it creates a candle light feeling. Designed from the 1920s Art nouveau, tiffany lamps as inspiration, the light was created with a modernized twist, keeping portability in mind. The top and bottom bowl are made of stain glass. On the top bowl there is a pattern created that is made of bronze. When the light shines through the soft glow will appear through allowing the pattern to stand out. The base is solid made from bronze same as the pattern on the top bowl. Using the same materials and having a similar shape as traditional tiffany lamps, the goal was to recreate a product of art nouveau with a modern twist as well as having a Parisian cafe style.
