From an early age, I have always taken things apart to see how they work. As I went through school, this cursory developed into a passion and learning how things were made inspired me to follow this passion. Understanding how things are designed and how the world is designed is very important to me. As a wheelchair user, I notice things others may not, which I use to my advantage while designing to create empathetic design and user-centred solutions.

Aisle Comfort

Air travel for disabled people is the hardest form of travel. By far the most uncomfortable and undignified part of the process for getting physically disabled wheelchair users boarded onto the aircraft is between the aircraft cabin door and their seat. The current aisle chairs used to board physically disabled passengers are unfit for purpose; they are uncomfortable, small and unsafe. The Aisle Comfort is a safer, more dignified and comfortable experience for disabled passengers. The adjustable accessories provide customisation opportunities to enhance comfort and make the stressful experience of air travel easier to bear.
