Passionate about all things music, tech, and design (obviously), I am a technically-minded designer with a focus on practicality and longevity. Through my university projects and my placement year in the R&D team at deVOL Kitchens, I've developed a fascination with detail and a love for seeing a project progress from an idea to a final product

hrmny

hrmny is a free-reed musical instrument inspired by the harmonium, a large foot-pumped organ which was later adapted to a more portable instrument - this is mostly used in devotional and South Asian classical music. Like the original, it generates sound by pushing air through metal reeds. However, by using electronic elements, control of the airflow can be automated, allowing for the introduction of effects familiar to a modern musician. The goal of this product is to reintroduce the tonal qualities of the harmonium to contemporary musicians with a focus on modern recording practices.

Spotify for Education is a system designed to bring Spotify’s song library to music lessons and practice. With the majority of students that stop taking lessons for their instrument citing a loss of interest, this product aims to make learning popular songs easier with official sheet music and backing tracks from the artist. Featuring a speaker to play along with the tracks, height adjustment for seated or standing instruments, and annotation on the removable tablet, the product combines sheet music’s clarity with Spotify’s convenience.
